⚠️ Serene is a personal wellbeing journey companion for journaling and self-reflection. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, clinical monitoring, risk scoring, or crisis support. If you need urgent help, call 999 (UK emergency) or 116 123 (Samaritans).

1. What Serene Is

Serene is a personal wellbeing journey companion designed to support self-reflection, journaling, habit awareness, hydration and nutrition tracking, movement logging, and general health goal setting. It is intended for adults who want to maintain a structured record of their own wellbeing.

2. What Serene Is Not

  • Not a medical device, diagnostic tool, or clinical decision-support system.
  • Not a substitute for a doctor, pharmacist, dietitian, psychologist, therapist, or any other qualified clinician.
  • Not a mental health treatment or crisis intervention service.
  • Not a monitoring tool for acute, serious, or unstable medical conditions.
  • Not capable of detecting, predicting, preventing, or treating any medical condition.
  • Not designed or approved for emergency or urgent-care use.

3. AI-Assisted Features

Serene includes AI-assisted nutrition search to help you estimate protein and calorie content of foods. These estimates are informational only — they are not clinical dietary prescriptions. The AI does not interpret symptoms, generate health risk assessments, or provide personalised medical recommendations. Do not rely on AI-generated content for clinical or treatment decisions.

4. GLP-1 and Prescription Medication Tracking

This is not a product promotion platform; it is a support and wellbeing programme for maintaining wellbeing in people receiving GLP-1 therapy. Serene is designed to support patients receiving GLP-1 therapy in self-monitoring and adult education about lifestyle changes, allowing you to log GLP-1 receptor agonist injections (e.g. semaglutide, tirzepatide) and other medications for your own scheduling and awareness. The app does not advise on starting, stopping, or changing any medication. Dose decisions, injection site guidance, and clinical monitoring are the responsibility of your prescribing clinician. Do not adjust your prescription based on patterns you observe in the app.

5. Seeking Professional Help

Always seek professional medical advice if you experience symptoms that are severe, persistent, worsening, or that concern you. Do not delay or avoid seeking professional help because of information you have read or patterns you have noticed in Serene.

6. Emergency Situations

🚨 If you or someone else is in immediate danger:

  • Call 999 (UK emergency services)
  • Call 116 123 (Samaritans — 24/7 emotional support)
  • Call 111 (NHS non-emergency medical advice)
  • Go to your nearest A&E department

Serene is not monitored. There are no in-app crisis pathways. Please use the contacts above for urgent situations.

7. About the Creator

Serene was designed by Dr. Elif Coşkunçay MRCP MFPM, a physician with specialist training in pharmaceutical medicine. Her medical background informs the design philosophy of the app, but Serene is not a clinical product and does not establish any doctor–patient or therapeutic relationship between the creator and the user.

8. Where Your Data Is Stored

All data you enter in Serene — wellness logs, GLP-1 injections, symptoms, mood, notes and profile — is stored only on your own device (your browser's local storage). No health data is ever sent to a server or shared with any third party.

You remain in full control: you can review, export, or permanently delete all of your data at any time from the Profile screen. Deletion is immediate and final — there is no server copy to recover.

This notice is provided to help you understand the scope and limitations of Serene. It does not limit your statutory rights as a consumer or data subject under UK law.
